LEOPARD PRINT

I’ve learned over the years that you are either a print person or you aren’t.

If you look through the photos of me, you’ll notice I don’t wear prints too often. When I do, they’re usually small in size.

Prints, or lack thereof, communicate a lot about someone’s personality. Don’t you think?

Minimalists enjoy simplicity and cleanliness. They like predictability and streamlined processes. They don’t mind blending in and avoid the spotlight. However, print lovers don’t mind a bit of chaos. They are more adventurous in spirit. They enjoy color and use clothing to help communicate their emotions and personality.

I think I’m both to an extent. Ultimately, I lean more towards simplicity because my main motivation in life is peace and tranquility. But, when I want to make a statement or be noticed, I choose prints to help support my desire.

To me, leopard is a print that communicates power, sensuality and fierceness. I’m not the best at using my words to do that for me and leopard prints help me convey these things.

What about you? Do you enjoy prints? If so, what prints do you enjoy, and what message or story do you feel they help you tell?

It’s only one month into 2020, but I’m ready for a vacation. Anyone else feel me? I couldn’t be more excited to visit Palm Springs this spring for Alt Summit. I’m already planning my outfits and prepping my wardrobe with resort wear from Garnet Hill.

I found this easy breezy linen cover up that you can just throw in your bag and go. I adore the color of it.

I also found some platform espadrilles and a woven handbag to accessorize the dress. I can’t wait to wear these pieces more as it warms up in Arizona.

California Girl

IMG_1625.jpg

How do you decide where you’re from? Is it where you live the longest? Is it where you were born? Is it where you enjoyed most of your formative years? Is it where most of your family lives?

IMG_1635.jpg

I’ve lived in Arizona 17 years now. It feels like home for now, but one day I know I’ll be back in the state in which I was born - California. I say I’m from Arizona, but when I step foot in California it always feels like I was meant to be there. Do you have a place that feels like that to you?

IMG_1639.jpg

So, that’s why I bought this Top Shop t-shirt. I’m a California girl at heart. Born there and will be back one day. I think this little Arizona girl just might feel the same way. She keeps talking about going back to the ocean. =) Time to start planning our family trip.

Basic + Lux

Being a mom of two and working from home means my wardrobe isn’t quite in demand of fancy skirts and dresses. However, I love the trend of taking luxurious pieces and pairing them with casual basics for an everyday look. This satin silk skirt and cotton t-shirt combination from Revari is a perfect example. I would wear this outfit to the office, while at home, out with my friends, on a date…It exemplifies the southwest, casual, laidback vibe that I live daily.

I love the rust color of this skirt and the message of this t-shirt. Both items are ethically sourced and can be found at ShopRevari.com.

Add a black bootie or a sneaker to this look to keep it casual in the cooler months or wear a chunky platform sandal in warmer months.

Keep makeup and hair relaxed and natural for an everyday look, or if you wanted to spice things up style your hair with a center part and add big hoops and a cropped puffy jacket.

Goodbye to a Decade

taylorhenning-revari-nov-2019-49.jpg

The past 10 years are hard to sum up. For one, this blog didn’t exist 10 years ago. That’s pretty nuts to think about. So, first and foremost, I would like to thank you for reading and following along. My life has been forever changed by the readers of this blog. I’m incredibly grateful for you.

Within a span of 10 years, I became a mother twice over, a business owner, an influencer, a homeowner twice over, a single woman, a design award winner, an account manager, a stylist, an art director, a creative director and a believer.

taylorhenning-revari-nov-2019-29.jpg

I could list all of my losses and accomplishments here, but it all means nothing compared to the freedom and inner strength that I have found through my faith in God. I know discussing religion is taboo, but when the rubber meets the road and you are faced with hard questions like your purpose in this life and what 10 years of life truly means, you have to dig deep, really deep.

taylorhenning-revari-nov-2019-40.jpg

Through faith, I’ve learned how loved I am regardless of my accomplishments. Through faith, I’ve learned how beautiful I am regardless of society’s standards. Through faith, I have learned how much purpose I have regardless of how many people know my name. Through faith, I have learned that this life is much more than my own.

taylorhenning-revari-nov-2019-43.jpg

2020 will bring joy and loss for everyone. That’s a fact because that’s life. My hope though is that through whatever is to come that I stand firm in my faith, carry peace in my soul and create it wherever I go, and continue to experience the depths of love by receiving and giving it to others. That’s my prayer and hope for the next ten years of my life regardless of the goals, hopes and dreams I have in my heart.

taylorhenning-revari-nov-2019-38.jpg

I look forward to sharing it all with you too. Happiest New Year and new decade!

What are your hopes for 2020 and the years to come?
