Anthropologie Pop-up Farmer's Market

ScottsdalePopUpMarket.jpg

Who doesn't love Anthropologie? Every time I'm at the mall I always have to pop in to see their latest home decor and apparel. This coming Sunday, Anthro is hosting their first Pop-up Farmer's market at their Scottsdale Fashion Square store from 11a.m. to 2p.m. Local coffee roasters, florists and bakers will be there selling their freshly made items. I can't wait to check this event out. I'm going to visit between 1pm and 1:30 if anyone else wants to go. See you there!

Summer Sales - Where to Shop

We just celebrated the 4th of July, and according to the fashion world summer is officially over now. Yep! It's over. Stores are putting all of their summer gear on sale, getting ready to bring in fall transitional items that will make you wish you were going back to school just so you can wear your new clothes for the first day.

By early September (just two months away), you'll start to see fall looks in full swing.

When you're sitting in 110 degree heat this seems absurd, but for the fashion lover like me I count down to this time of year. haha. It means MAJOR sale time, and a preview of the beautiful, autumn fashions to come.

First things first, where should you be shopping these major sales?

1. URBAN OUTFITTERS - They are having a crazy sale right now. I've never seen shoes SO cheap. This sale is happening in stores AND online. So, don't worry if you don't have a store close to you.

2. MADEWELL - This store along with J.Crew is my favorite of all time. It's just my style down to the T. So, of course, I'm super excited that ALL of their sale items are an ADDITIONAL 30% off when you use the code SALEAWAY. Right now they have some super adorable shoes on sale, as well as some sweaters and dresses that I've been eying for awhile.

3. ANTHROPOLOGIE - Ah yes, the store that has so many beautiful things at high prices...Well, now you can finally get your paws on the summer styles that you've been wanting without breaking the bank. Score colored denim, sequined skirts and silk blouses for under $100 with Anthro's summer sale. It's an additional 25% off the lowest price!!!

Go out shopping and stock up! Colored denim, button down shirts, exposed backs will all remain popular next year.

Floral Pants

Who doesn't like getting flowers? They're pretty, colorful and smell wonderful. They even make great prints. But have you ever worn a floral printed pants!? Sure, skirts and dresses, but pants? Well, this spring and summer it may just be your first time, as well as mine, because these floral patterns are springing up all over the place in stores like Anthropologie....

And Urban Outfitters...

So, what do you think? Are you bold enough to sport this print from the waist down?

Mismatched

'Tis the season to be mismatched. No more red pants with only black, gray and white on top! No more navy separated from black! No MORE sticking to just jeans because they go with everything. In the words of Darkwing Duck, "Let's Get Dangerous!" Are you with me?!

Why the cheerleader speech?

Well...1. I've always wanted to be a cheerleader. 2. I was sitting at a restaurant last night, and all I saw was a sea of black, brown, gray and navy. It was SO dull! Right now fashion is in this really interesting time where the only way you can screw up an outfit is for everything to match.

Seriously, though, this is SUCH a fun time in fashion where you can step outside of the box, and dress yourself like you were a little kid or something. You can wear your favorite plaid shirt under your striped sweater, add a polka dot skirt and step out of the house.

So, live a little my friends. Mismatch your clothes, and I promise you'll look more fashionable that usual. Don't believe me? Well, then listen to your favorite stores such as J.Crew, Anthropologie and Madewell.

Capes

So, I may be getting a tad ahead of myself considering it's still 106 degrees in Phoenix, but I'm already spying my next winter coat - or shall I say CAPE! Pea coat style is usually what catches my eye each winter, but I'm ready for something different. Capes have been around for ages. I'm not sure why all of the sudden I'm wanting one. Maybe I'm watching too many Marvel comic movies?
