Sven is arguably the internet's favorite sofa. Have you met, Sven?! Over 35,000 homes, offices and coffee shops are home to Sven including mine. I got my sofa last year, and I'm here to share with you how I'm loving it so far.

In a nutshell, I have told every one of my friends how much I love Article and the quality of their furniture. Somehow my six year old and three year old have managed to avoid destroying it. In fact, it's the perfect couch for jumping, flipping and wrestling. At least Levi and Elle seem to think so.

I, on the other hand, find this couch to be incredible beautiful, easy to take car of and cozy. Sven and I like to cuddle up these days. Haha!

Upstairs Guest Room with Garnet Hill

03.JPG

This post is sponsored by Garnet Hill.

It took me a whole year, but I finally got back into decorating spaces again. This guest room has been unfinished for a year since we moved Elle into the other room. It was time to finish nesting.

13.JPG

I had a different bed in here, but moved it downstairs when we divided furniture. I wanted another room for guests to sleep in, so I got this bed from Lamps Plus. Though I am a modern girl, I thought this bed was super cool. I was really impressed that they even carried bed frames.

08.JPG

I already had the BEST linen bedding from Garnet Hill. It has soft pink ticking stripes, so it really set the tone for what was coming next.

11.JPG

The wall was already painted black, and I had already experimented with pink and black for Elle's room. I knew I liked it, but when I saw this rug from Garnet Hill I knew this was the direction I wanted to go. It's STUNNING! I LOOOOOOOVE it. I have never loved a rug more. The quality is amazing.

Everything fell into place from there. I used a brass lamp I already had from Living Spaces, and wool stools from my bedroom. I also found the perfect spot for my great, great aunt's steamer trunks from the 1800s.

All in all, I could not be happier to have another beautiful room complete in my home. Now bring on the guests!

Linen Sheets Are A Game Changer

002.JPG

This post is sponsored by Garnett Hill.

I kept hearing all of this buzz about linen sheets being the best thing you could ever sleep in, but I didn't really believe it. And even if it was true, I wasn't about to drop a ton of money on sheets when I already had some that were perfectly fine. I mean, it's like the whole thread count, Egyptian cotton thing...It sounds amazing and I love luxury, but do I really need to spend a wad of cash on sheets for the best sleep of my life? If it's a good price and halfway decent and I can get it at a nearby store then I'm sold. At least, that's how I operated until I had the chance to try linen sheets through Garnett Hill.

009.JPG

When they reached out to me to partner with them this year I was definitely excited. They are known for quality basics for women, kids and home. I have never ordered sheets online before though, and so I thought this was the perfect chance to experience that process.

010.JPG

I saw these Eileen Fisher ticking stripe sheets in pink, and I just had to have them. The frayed edges are so cute, and the color was the perfect way to add some spring freshness to the room. Although I must say, I was a bit hesitant about linen. I was wondering if everything was just going to look like a wrinkled mess all of the time. I sure as heck didn't want to have to iron all of the sheets everything time I had a guest visit.

003.JPG

But I took a gamble on them because of the rumors that sleeping in linen is the best. Boy am I glad I did. They are so awesome that I am considering giving up my own master bedroom for the guest room. Being that I live in Arizona where the temps can climb to 120, I should have done this a long time ago. They make you feel like you are sleeping on a cloud, and keep you nice and cool compared to regular sheets.

001.JPG

They do have a worn, slightly wrinkled look to them as most linen does, but I find that charming and a juxtaposition to modern design elements in my guest room. I highly recommend trying linen for yourself! Visit Garnett Hill for more linen styles.

Best Moments to Be A Kid

028.JPG

This post is sponsored by Gymboree.

I think we can all agree that the holidays are some of the best moments to be a kid. Baking Christmas cookies, counting down to Santa's arrival, shaking the boxes under the tree, sipping hot cocoa while looking at Christmas lights...To be a kid during the holidays is extra special, and now that I am a single mom of two I have all of these fears that the best moments will be lack luster. But, I've partnered with Gymboree to keep the holiday sparkle strong this year.

One of our holiday traditions is taking family photos, and I decided that even though our family may be different now, we are still a family and documenting it with a holiday family photos is important. Traditions don't have to stop unless you let them.

Gymboree had everything I needed to outfit the kids with style. Elle could not get this snowflake dress on fast enough, and the polar bear ear muffs were her accessory of choice. I always find it's easiest to coordinate family outfits if you start with the girls first and then pick the boys.

023.JPG

For Levi, I found an adorable striped shirt, puffer vest, joggers, boots and a snow hat. He looks like he is ready to chop down a Christmas tree for us.

It was one-stop-shopping at Gymboree, and the great thing is that they carry clothes for all ages up to 12 years old. So, we'll be coming there for years to come to find clothes for family photos.

I'm so glad that we had these pics taken. Even though every joyful moment like this will have a bit of sadness attached to it, I know that my children will treasure these moments now and forever. And for that, it's worth it.

Green Velvet

010.JPG

This post is sponsored by Article.

Do you have the velvet bug? I obviously do. Last year, it was a blue sofa. Last month, it was red velvet shoes. And this month, it's green velvet chairs from Article. They are my new obsession. I love sitting here early in the morning or late at night. The fabric is so soft to the touch. It feels like a big hug to me right now.

006.JPG

And it's not just color or texture that has me head over heels in love, it's the lines. The design of these chairs is so beautiful and the quality is top notch. Article is a company that I have been familiar with for quite some time. In fact, I have been eyeing their brown leather sofa for over a year.

005.JPG

A couple months ago I thought I was putting the finishing touches on the house, but with the change in circumstances with my family, some furniture has had to go. So, it truly is a gift to have such special chairs be a part of new beginnings for me.

If you're looking for quality, modern furniture I highly encourage you to check out the chairs, sofas and tables that Article makes. They are exceptional.
